Abstract Tick-borne Spotted Fever Group Rickettsioses (SFGR) is a serious disease reported in low income communities of many developed countries. The dearth information on the existence SFGR most developing countries particularly Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) including Nigeria, has been attributed to factors chiefly amongst which are; poor knowledge disease, limitation diagnostic capacity, leading misdiagnosis and under reporting some infectious zoonotic diseases such as SFGR. aim this study was evaluate pastoralists (livestock farmers) animal health workers’ knowledge, attitudes perceptions/practices towards ticks tick-borne affecting livestock 3 Local Government Areas (LGA): i.e., Plateau State, Nigeria Jos Capital City State. A total 141 semi-structured questionnaires were administered respondents 90 51 workers from different veterinary clinics. Interestingly, expressed no about SFGR, although 61.36 % history tick infestation. Among workers, 76.47 but lacked diagnosis disease. findings indicate that there need for an increase awareness its predisposing among relevant stakeholders Nigeria.

Immunohistochemical staining of skin, kidney, and liver demonstrated spotted fever group rickettsiae.
